Ticking off the bucket list

The older I get the younger I feel.

Let me explain what I mean. Yes, my body is decrepit and every day something else seems to be aching and falling apart but my mind seems to be more frivalous and up for fun and adventure than it ever was. I don’t know if it has something to do with having been diagnosed with cancer twice and realising that tomorrow is promised to no one that has spurred me into action. All I can say for certain is that I no longer really care what people think of me, and the cringing embarrasment I would experience over such insignifrcant things as my younger self, has disappeared like a fart in the wind.

I see everything I havent yet experienced as something to be ticked off my bucket list. So far that has included; trying yoga and a women’s circle for the first time, attending a sip and paint party and having my very first ever Cadbury’s Star bar – which is amazingingly delicious and knocks my favourite Boost bar into a cocked hat.

That’s the thing – try something new. It doesnt have to be something huge like Skydiving (which I definitely can’t do now with one kidney) but just something you’ve never experienced before. You might hate it buy hey unless you try you’ll never know.

Who knew that peanut butter and syrup sandwiches are actually quite delicious! I can thank Ryan for that one, he’s been eating them for decades but I had never scoffed one myself until two days ago and what can I say – they’re a bloomin’ taste sensation! Might try marmite and banana next.
